Down East Insurance Agency President/CEO David Tozier recently announced the acquisition of Allied Insurance Agency of Gardiner, Maine. Allied Insurance was owned by Associated Grocers of Maine and the new Down East/Allied Agency will continue to maintain an office at the AG's Gardiner office complex.

Melanie Munsey, Vice President/Manager of Down East Insurance Agency stated, "We are pleased to add over 50 years of insurance experience in the addition of Robert Reed and Linda Gray to our Down East family". Bob Reed will work out of the Bangor Office and in addition to being a licensed agent he is also a licensed Insurance Consultant. Linda Gray, a licensed agent with over 25 years of experience, will continue to work out of the Gardiner office.

Down East Insurance Agency, a Credit Union Service Organization solely owned by Down East Credit Union, was established in 1999 and also has offices in Baileyville, Machias, and Bowdoinham.
